Tame The Beast (Feb. Marathon #6)

gp_feb14_06_fbTonight Darwin and I were treated to a wonderful potluck dinner at the school where Theresa teaches.  The food was great, the company too….But I was feeling pretty tired and antsy to get home and paint.  As we got on our first of 2 buses home Theresa realized that she had left her wallet in her desk.  So Darwin and I decided to hang out at the donut shop near our transfer point and wait on Theresa to retrieve her wallet.  As we sat and enjoyed our 6 donut holes I overheard a customer talking with the cashier.  She was ad because they didn’t take credit cards.  I turned to look and she had gotten a donut and a cup of coffee.  She looked pretty frustrated.  “I got this one!” I said as I nodded to the cashier.  They both looked surprised.  I paid in cash….3 bucks.  We talked for a minute.  She told me lived near by and could go get cash.  I told her to buy someone else a donut or something next time she was here.  Happy Donuts indeed.

I am excited to finish a painting around midnight.  I have been SO behind.  But here it is…This is really much more of an ink drawing on wood than it is a painting.  I splashed some paint on it….more of the paint landed on me, my desk, and my glasses than got on the panel.  Sigh.   This was a fun little experiment.  I really like how it turned out.  Off to bed…..early.  take care.

This piece was bought by Mr. Neal Hakken from Michigan!  Thank you so much Neal!   It’s on it’s way.

Hi Joshua… I emailed you a few weeks ago about the “Day 169” and “Day 170” self portrait bowls that were up for auction in Sparks, Nv….Well, I won the auction for both bowls and I love them, they are very sweet!!! I’m afraid I didn’t follow up and send you a photo – I’m very “camera shy” but suffice it to say that they are very cool and I will keep them and enjoy them for awhile and then “gift” them to another friend along with the great story [ I have printed out your articles about these two pieces] of their journey and their “maker”..I would also like to say “thank you” and tell you that you are indeed an inspiration to many [and you probably don’t even know it!] to do good things… You have an AMAZING HEART and you are unquestionably an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ARTIST… Trust me, when a little extra $$$ is available to me, I WILL purchase art work from you!!!! Again, thank you so very much!!! Have a great day, Lynn
