Best I Can Do (GP2-009)

Have you heard the one about the LA Lawyer that gave his house away?  If not….It is no joke.  Check out the news story here.  This story is really great.  My favorite parts are about Tony’s father raising him to be a generous person.  And when Tony says that ‘this is a small thing…’  …  Imagine loaning your house to someone in need for one year, rent free.  And then calling is a ‘small thing’?!  What I believe he is getting at here isn’t that the gift is small….But it is in relative to his life a simple gift.  He has abundance.  This is something he can easily do.  And instead of just ignoring it or renting it out….he chose to do this as a gift to someone in need.  Giving is all about abundance.  You can only give what you have.  I also like when he says ‘generosity builds generosity.’  How amazing…?!

cupcakeI don’t have much to tell you in the way of gifts today.  I am a little down.  Tired.  And I have had a nagging toothache for a few days.  At any rate today was my friend Paul’s birthday.  He is not the type to make any sort of announcement or big deal….he in fact, didn’t tell anyone.  But through a series of text messages from his girlfriend, a few co-workers found out.  So we all chipped in to get Paul some cupcakes.  He was pretty surprised when we all sang Happy Birthday to him in the middle of the store!  He offered me a cupcake.  I took one.  After thinking about it for a while, I decided that I wasn’t going to eat my cupcake but that I was going to gift it to someone.  You must know that it is REALLY hard for me to turn down a cupcake.  Baked goods are my Kryptonite!  But my friend Chelle isn’t feeling so good today.  I don’t know if she is just down or what, but I decide to give my cupcake to her.  Maybe it will brighten her day up….even if it is just a little.  Well….Off to paint and hit the hay.  Take care.
