“Thank You to everybody that supports me, my art, and my ‘little’ project The Gift Prolific. To everyone who participated in yesterday’s gallery opening and received a painting, thank you! Your love and support mean the world to me and my family. You are amazing and beautiful. Thanks for sharing your time with me…and your stories. Giving happens everywhere. Your participation is an incredible gift to me. I can’t wait to hear from you all. Have a great burn. Have a great year. Take care.”
I left this sign in front of my gallery after the opening. In case you missed it…here it is. I have many people to thank. This is the first of the ‘Thank You’ notes. Please look through the gallery and find your painting. I would love to hear from you. You can send me pics of your paintings hanging in your homes or being given as gifts. Or you can drop me a line or two…whatever you like. I will be posting pics and stuff in the coming weeks. You can either email me at email@example.com or you can post a comment on the painting’s blog entry. Either way it is your call.
As I am getting settled in at home I am still trying to process just how cool it was to meet all of you! So many people shared their time and stories with me. I am very excited that many of you got the exact painting you wanted! I am thrilled that many of you are giving them as gifts. I am equally excited that many of you are keeping them and making them a part of your lives. When I started this thing a year ago it seemed like a great idea but it also seemed like a ton of work. And it was! But like anything worth doing it has paid me back tenfold. I will never forget my experiences with you…and with this project. I have learned so much about people, my art, and life. Thank you for being so awesome! This experience has indeed saved my life.
In the coming weeks I want to share with you photos, guest book entries, stories, and other pieces of our connection. Stay tuned…we aren’t done yet!
And finally, many people have asked me what I am going to do next…The short term answer is spend more time with my family. I also need to take care of some health issues. I do still enjoy giving gifts daily. And I probably always will. It is a part of my life that I am not willing to let go of. I have many art shows to prep for going into the end of the year. As for the long term, I am going to wait for a bit and decide. I feel like I want to do the whole thing over again. But I need to give that some space. I may do this project again for 2014’s Burning Man. But that is all just speculation right now. Dreams. Brewing. You will be the first to know….I promise. Take care.
