Day 320 – The Spirit of Giving

I have a customer that gives me Giants tickets from time to time.  His name is Kevin.  This week was the same as many weeks…he came in and gave me a ticket on Friday for today’s game.  I can’t go.  I am neck deep in Burning Man prep and just can’t make it happen.  So I am going to give this ticket away.  At work I ask a few people what they are doing after work.  Most everyone has plans.  Around lunch time I see Emily (a big Giants fan) and ask her if she wants it.  She does, but like the rest of us, has to work.  But she tells me that Patrick might want it.  So she calls our co-worker Patrick to let him know about the ticket.  He is an even bigger Giants fan.  Later on Patrick shows up and gets the ticket from me.  All ready for the game.  I am just super psyched someone is going to get to use the ticket.  When I get home I find that my plans for setting up our Gallery for the first time have fallen through.  No one is available to come help….hmm.  I should have just gone to the game.  Oh Well.  Such is the nature of giving…just give and live it.

Another little cool Burning Man piece.  I really like painting on wood.  It is ultra fast.  I may have told you but I have been picked to make a big painting to go in the Center Camp Cafe this year.  I got the canvas.  I gotta work on that tonight.  It is pretty big…..48″ x 48″.  I have an idea as to what I am going to paint.  I think I will use that painting as a gift paintings as well….And at the end of the week I will give it away as well.  Cool.  Well I guess I have more work to do.  Take care.

Hi Josh . . . I am so glad you said hello to me on W. Portal yesterday, and shared a story about yourself and then gave me your card to I could look at this beautiful Blog/Website of yours with your gorgeous drawings. You and I got off to a rocky start to be sure, but I think every day we make baby/giant steps and I both like and respect you so much. See you at work. Kathryn
