Day 310 – Mixtape (Street Names pt.4)

I love making CD’s for people.  I like to give people music because it is like giving them an experience….and a physical gift all at the same time.  Tonight I am making a mix CD for my friend Michelle at work.  We have really just started to get to know each other and I am not sure what kind of music she likes….but maybe my mix cd is more about the music I like.  hmm.  At any rate, I am making a list of stuff that I like to paint to.  She is an artist too.  Eddie Vedder, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bardo Pond, Isis, William Elliott Whitmore, Old Man Leudecke…and a few others.  Something easy….something fun.

This one kind of looks like a CD cover!  Dandelion!  We are almost to my street!  Well we are headed out to a fun art thing in the Mission tonight.  Take care.

One Response to Day 310 – Mixtape (Street Names pt.4)

  1. Linda Garrity says:

As the lucky recipient of one of your mix CDs (actually a boxed deluxe collection!), I can testify how great a gift that is…….even your handwritten label entitled, “A Whole Bunch of Music for Linda” with a smiley face and Love, Joshy on the cardboard sleeve does indeed makes me smile and warms my heart each and every time I happen to glance at it.
Love the new series……perhaps someone who “lives” on one of those Burning Man Streets will consider it a treasured memento. I’m sure you have imagined it many times, but oh the stories you’ll hear about why people choose which of your paintings……
