This is probably the quickest deed ever done for someone…..here goes. I am driving home after a long day of working for my friends Craig and Cassandra on their movie shoot. I am worn out. Just exhausted. I am gonna be sore tomorrow. Anyway…I check the gas meter….Bone dry! I pull into the next gas station I see. Thank goodness they gave me money for gas today or I could get stranded. As I start to pump my 20 dollars worth I think to myself “damn, gas is really getting expensive.” And at 4.49 a gallon who doesn’t think that. Then I hear a guy cursing next to me. I look over. A younger guy in a nice suit is bending to see something under his car. What is it? His gas cap. It fell and rolled right to the center of his unreachable zone…..especially with nice clothes on. I walk over and lay on the ground….without saying a word to him and grab the gas cap. As I stand and brush off the dirt and who knows what else….he can’t believe that someone would do that. “Wow, thank you very much. I have these work clothes on…and I ” he fumbles. “No sweat man!” I say. He offers to buy me a beer…”Nah, I don’t drink. It’s cool man. No problem really.” I say as I walk back to my van. Tired….I crawl in and drive home. I rule!
This was such an easy gift. I feel as though if we react to the world around us and are open to the opportunities, gifts and giving are all around us. This probably made this guys day….at least a little easier. And it made mine. I had a great day to start….but this definitely helped me get home. It was a small gift. But a great one. And I know we both feel that gift. Now I am off to bed. The painting tonight is about energy…and moving in circles. Take care.
