Day 260 – Walk The Walk

Have you ever had a friend that told you that they would do a lot of something for you but somehow never came through?  Good intentioned folks that maybe talk the talk and can’t find a way to walk the walk….?  I have.  Is your ‘all talk’ friend an artist or creative type?  That happens.  In fact, fair or unfair, many artists get tagged with this reputation.  We are told that artists set their own schedules, sleep in, are generally lazy, starving, penniless fools that somehow scrape by believing in their own idealism.  But I am here today to tell you that this is a lie.  At least for a few people that I know.  Craig and Cassandra have been hard at work on their movie ‘Wireboy’ for months now.  And in the middle of their craziness Craig even came over and filmed my Kickstarter Video….(Which by the way…RULES!).  Tomorrow is their big shoot day for much of the film and I have had my calendar clear on that day for months.  I am going to help them out in anyway I can….100%.  Make it happen to the best of my ability.  I am not even sure what I am gonna be doing but I appreciate them so much in my life that I will do whatever they ask.  You see….Craig and Cassandra are very hardworking artists.  They are people that actually DO what they say they are gonna do.  They Walk the Walk.  And I find it very inspiring to be around people that can back up their dreams.  So tonight I am making cupcakes as a gift…..many cupcakes are never a bad thing on a movie set.  And Theresa is making breakfast muffins.  So that will be a super day.

I feel so connected to Craig and Cassandra.  I feel like I have really worked very hard on this project this year.  And it keeps rolling along.  I do what I set out to do.  And it is nice to share that in common with them.  Seeing artists ‘DO THEIR THING’ at full bore is an amazing thing to behold.  Being able to support that is also inspiring.  Today’s painting is really just a sketch with a sharpie.  I am short on time.  But I really like the sketch quality of it.  “Stand With Yourself” just sort of cane out of me.  I guess I am saying….do the things that make you proud to be you….don’t just talk about them.  Well I am off….more baking.  Take care.
