Day 175 – I’ll Fly Away

My grandma and I have something in common.  We both love birds.  In fact, I think that my love of birds comes from her!  When I was growing up she always take time to tell me about different birds in her yard.  She still has a whole book case full of ceramic birds in her main living area.  One year she gave me a porcelain parrot….it is super old.  It stays on my bookshelf in my living room.  When I paint birds part of me feels like I am honoring a family tradition.  I am thinking about my grandma a lot today.  She was recently in the hospital.  She is home now…so I am sending her a card.  I wish I could afford to go back to Ohio and see her.  It has been too long.  I made an all homemade style card and I drew this bird on the front.  I know she will love it.  Inside I wrote that I will call her soon.  I miss her a lot.  On the back of the card I wrote “made by J.O.” which is my nickname.  I hope she feels better soon.

This little wren was super fun to paint.  I would absolutely turn this into a larger painting!  I wanted to add so much to it but time is something I don’t have a lot of these days.  I do however have a lot of chores, errands, project stuff, plans, etc.  Enough to drive me insane!  I signed up for all of this….what the hell was I thinking!  I am just kidding….I love this whole process.  Later.
