I don’t even have to think too hard about today’s gift….It is that simple. I am driving back from Oakland. I was there dropping off 2 skate decks that I painted for a show this Saturday. This will be the first time I have ever shown any artwork in Oakland. So that feels like a big deal. I am branching out and staying busy selling art anywhere I can. Good for me. And good for the guy behind me in the toll plaza! That’s right it is my turn to pay the 6 dollar bridge toll for the Bay Bridge and I have exactly 12 dollars! When I get to the toll booth I inform the operator to pay for the guy behind me. He nods….not impressed with my gesture. Oh well. As I slowly drive through I see him wave the car behind me on…Then I see the stunned look on the driver’s face. He waves. No thanks necessary. I love doing this gift. It is classic, simple, and really fun.
Part 2 of my self portrait series on small bowls. I think I will call this one ‘Beyond The Five O’Clock Shadow’. I am a little more hairy in this one. Wonder what tomorrow will bring.
