I am headed over to my mechanic’s garage to pick up my van. It has been in the shop for less than one day but has been broken down for over week. It has been a relatively expensive ordeal. But it was way less stressful than trying to fix it myself. I am not all that great with cars. I can admit that. I just don’t get into it. I get confused easily when it comes to mechanical things. I have a hard enough time with my bike. Anyway, when I made the decision last weekend to have someone else do the repair work, rather than doing it myself, the cost didn’t bother me. The release of stress by not worrying about it anymore and having a pro do it, was worth every penny. So today I am dropping of some good beers and snacks to the mechanic guys at ‘House of Brakes’ in the Mission. They are good dudes. They have worked on the van before. I really appreciate their no bullshit approach to cars. You can tell they aren’t the best at talking or relating to customers….they are too busy! And they are just that darn good at what they do. So, like I said I drop off some great Trader Joe’s goodies, pay my bill….and then I don’t stick around to talk…I jump in the van and head back to work. Easy….Stress free. Done.
This is a quick contour line drawing that I painted in. Contour line drawings are quick drawings where the artist or the drawer does not look at what he is drawing. I closed my eyes for this one. The effect is almost always interesting. Most of the time contour line drawings are done with the artist looking at the subject matter only….and sometimes not lifting the pencil from the drawing surface. I just thought of beer bottles in my head. And this is what happened. Pretty cool. Then I outlined it and colored parts of it in. It was really fun to be so loose again. Oh an the van works great! Take care.
