Day 138 – Chimes of Freedom

So I have been sick all day.  Yuck.  This has led to a lot of computer time.  I think I want to help the whole world today.  But mostly my stomach….and my headache.  I don’t really get headaches much anymore.  But this one has been bad since early this morning.  Anyway.  I am stumbling through different articles and pages on the grand ole’ internet and I come across Amnesty International’s page.  I have supported this group for many years.  On and off I give donations when I can afford to.  If you are not familiar with Amnesty’s work please check it out.  And where have you been for the last 50 years!?!  I donate ten bucks.  After I donate I see a banner at the top of the page for ‘Chimes of Freedom’ a 4 CD set of Bob Dylan tunes recorded by people like Steve Earle, Pete Seeger (who I believe deserves a Nobel Peace Prize), Bad Religion, Billy Bragg, Tom Morello……DOH!  How did I miss that?  I will have to donate again and get a digital copy of those songs!  Enjoy.

Today’s painting was pretty simple.  I needed to catch up as I am a little behind….Story of my life!  Anyway…Just a cool bug outline.  I like the small simple ones sometimes.  Especially when I need to get caught up.  Well off to bed….gotta get rid of this headache.  Take care.

Wow, I did check it out and embarrassingly enough for my age, I don’t really know much about this organization, so thanks for bringing it to my attention. That compilation CD set they are offering is quite the buy; Ed and I grew up with Bob Dylan and his “new album” Blood on the Tracks” (1974) was among the first music that we loved together early on in our relationship. So it’s interesting to me to see how many others love it as well and chose to do their versions of so many songs we know and love. I may have to make a donation myself…….
This may be too much, but if you’re still not feeling that great and have 10 minutes to kill, you might want to watch this movie I made for Ed’s 60th birthday last December (the middle track of it is Bob Dylan’s version of “Forever Young”)-most of it will probably be boring for you b/c it’s very personal photos of our extended family, but if we’re going to be friends, you might enjoy seeing that from whence we came! NO comments about “the Afro years” though!

PS The “mother” in me is concerned about your stomach and your headaches……are you scheduled to see some type of medical person soon? Never underestimate the deadliness of the side effects of certain prescription drugs if you are taking any…….

      Hey Linda,

Glad I could introduce you to Amnesty…They are really great. As for your video I wasn’t able to get it to play. Hmm. I would love to see it.
My headaches and stuff went away. My doctor is supposed to get back to me this week as to why he thinks it may be happening. Right now I feel great. So we will see. i think it is the meds, at least that is my best deduction. But don’t sweat it…I am on top of it. Talk to you soon.
