Day 119 – Zombie Barricades Failing All Around You

I just got off the phone with my mom.  She told me about their latest emergency…Around Christmas my brother Chad was on a late night tear playing the latest shoot em up game on his Xbox.  Modern Warfare 3.  As he was kickin ass and takin names or whatever he accidentally kicked his Xbox and scratched the disc inside it so bad that it would no longer play.  They sent the game to Activision for repairs….however that is taking a long time.  He has no other games.  So now I am on Amazon.com and looking for games.  I come across one I know he will like.  It is called ‘Left 4 Dead 2’ and it is all about killing zombies!  Who doesn’t love that?  I get it overnighted to their address.  They will get it tomorrow and be all surprised.  SIDENOTE:  Chad called the next day to tell me how awesome that game is.  And that he has been up all night scared of zombies!  Win!

This is a silly quick sketch painting of a zombie.  My zombie is not very menacing.  Not like in the game.  Mine is more of mellow zombie.  He probably liked Barry Manilow when he wasn’t undead.  Maybe long walks on the beach.  Watching chick flicks.  He was a sensitive guy…and then the zombie apocalypse happened and now he casually craves your brains.  He doesn’t mean for you to take it personally….he just has a need that must be filled.  Take care.  And cut the sensitive zombie some slack.

OMG, my husband is rushing off to work (late once again as usual), but I read him your last paragraph of this and we’re both laughing…..well me more than him b/c he’s in a serious hurry, but still……..
You are one funny guy and I’m so happy to have you in my life……..your zombie might have been a “Fanilow” when he was undead. I had a wacky teacher at COD, our local junior college where I was taking library classes a few years back and she just LOVED the guy, I mean seriously LOVED HIM (I think her personal email address was fanilow@something.com and of course, her ringtone was Copacabana); we had great fun with that one!!!!
I like that your art is becoming more simplistic b/c I’m imagining that it’s much more doable for you to fit in with the rest of your busy life. Hope that’s true…….
    XOXO
PS I wrote a post on 29gifts last night that was selected for the “featured blog” section-I thought it was meaningful, but didn’t realize how much it would affect other people. So fun to think of small acts that I do can ripple around the world w/o me even leaving my house!

Awesome. I am about to get ready to go to work as well. I have been up since 3 working on the blog. Yeah I have been in a cartoony type mood lately. It is cool for me…but I always get a need to do more detailed stuff soon after. Things are quite hectic but in a good way. Saturday I drop off my bird paintings to another gallery for a show in Feb. They are also using on of my bird paintings as the image on their postcards. So I am very honored for that.

I have had a few people in my life that were FANILOWS! So crazy.

Congratulations on getting featured blog on the 29 gifts site. I will have to log on there and read up. Maybe even keep a blog going there….I should just post there and on my own blog at the same time. hmm.

Good for you! You are awesome. Thanks for laughin at my silly post. Talk to you soon.

I like the double post idea…..I really do think you get much more attention there…….
If you have the time to read my “featured blog”, let me know where you found it….I got an email that it was chosen but can’t seem to find it in that section.
Hey, I just read on 29gifts that Cammie and her new husband are selling off all their belongings and moving to SF…..wouldn’t it be cool to meet up with her in some way? Make it happen and let me know how it goes!!!!
    XOXO
