Day 99 – A Penny For Thought

I am donating this painting to the project today.  This is a panting that I made years and years ago.  The title is ‘A Penny For Trouble’.  It has been sitting in my studio for a few years and It is tome to pass it on.  2 years ago at Burning Man I gave away 5 paintings that were basically collecting dust in my studio.  All of the recipients really enjoyed their paintings.  A few of them have even emailed me to keep in touch from time to time.  My favorite was Ed.  Ed really connected with a tiny Buddha painting that I had there.  He was surprised when I offered it to him.  That experience was so joyous and it is the main inspiration for the Gift Prolific.  So I am donating this painting to the project.  Hopefully someone will really connect with it and want it in their house.  This one is a little different….usually the paintings aren’t considered the gifts but this feels like a gift. So I am going to go with my gut and allow it.  I guess as long as I don’t do it all the time it will be fine.  Take care.

Hmmmmm, very different from your other posts and artwork, but that’s the thing about art, isn’t it?
This one strikes me as a bit unnerving, but you never really know who will connect with what for whatever reason or point they are in their life.
I have a little gift for you, but will have to send it via your email since this reply mode doesn’t allow for attachments, etc. Hope you like it…..

Yeah I painted this one a long time ago. I was single….lonely….and trying to find my voice as an artist. There is a lot of experimenting in this painting. Lots of little lines and weird face shapes. I remember listening to one album over and over while painting it….At The Drive In’s Relationship Of Command. It was all I listened to for like a month straight. Very angry music. Anyway…You don’t have to send something….thanks. I will go check my email right now! Talk to you soon. Thanks for everything. Later.
