Day 67 – Almost Stealth Coffee

I am on my way to my therapy appointment.  I am early.  Which is way better for me than being late.  I get really anxious if I am late.  I hate it.  But I am here early and I think instead of just sitting here in the van for 20 minutes, I am going to go make today’s gift.  I walk into the corner coffee shop and purchase a 5 dollar gift certificate.  On the back I write a small note…”To whomever finds this gift certificate,  Today is your day.  Enjoy a free cup of coffee.  On me.  I am a local artist and you are helping me with a huge art project…I know that doesn’t make a lot of sense.  Please see my website…the address is on the attached business card.  (yes, I have ”gift prolific” business cards)  This is gift #67.  But most of all, enjoy your coffee….and have a great day.”  I leave it on the counter…and ask the cashier to watch for it and make sure the next customer gets it.  He laughs and likes the idea…so I give him a card too. Off to therapy I go.

I wanted the cup in the painting to seem ghostly..not in a scary way.  More like a mirage.  Something you can’t believe until you touch it.  That is how I would feel if someone bought me something and I didn’t know them….I would have a hard time believing it.  The fingerprint is another reference to my stealth giving.  I think in all of the future gift paintings that are stealth you will see my thumbprint.  On to the next one.
