Today I am giving a thank you gift to two of my ‘managers’ at work.  Jill and Greg went the extra mile for me yesterday when I took Craig home from work….and I just want to let them know that I appreciate it.  I am buying them each a Ten Dollar gift card to Peet’s Coffee.  Peet’s is next door to Trader Joe’s and they go there a lot.  So I know they will appreciate it.  Coffee makes most people’s days better.  Not me….I never could get into it.  Anyway….when I give them their gift cards they are both surprised.  I can’t really get into the details as to what they did for me….just know that they kind of stuck their necks out a little…and they really didn’t have to do that for me.  They are good peeps.

Coffee.  This makes me think of Center Camp Cafe at Burning Man.  This is the only place in Black Rock City where you can really buy anything….Coffee.  They also sell Gatorade, Lemonade, and Hot Chocolate.  But the cafe means so much more to me than that…Many a nights I have wondered into the cafe and fallen asleep on a couch or on some pillows on the ground.  It is the best place to people watch.  They always have live music….and art.  Lots of art.  One year I even got to paint a mural on one of the walls.  The cafe is where I first met Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping.  His anti-consumerist sermon on Sunday morning changed my life!  It was really fun.  I can’t wait to go say hello to the cafe this year.  Maybe I will sign up and play some ukulele for people.  A gift perhaps?  I can’t wait to be ‘Home’ and feeling all there is to feel.  I can’t wait to be in my beloved Center Camp Cafe one more time.  Take care.
